Shuckers Waterfront Grill has been proudly serving fun and flavor since 1989, and recently opened sister property, Shuckers South Beach, at The Stiles Hotel. This iconic venue, located in the heart of South Beach on Collins Avenue, is a perfect outdoor spot to showcase fresh seafood, local favorites and Shuckers' Famous Grilled Wings! If you love fun, sun and working with a team of passionate hospitality professionals, we would love to meet you. This position is ideal for candidates just starting a Serving career, and while experience is appreciated, it is not necessary for consideration.

Summary:

The Server Marketing Model enhances the Shuckers South Beach brand experience making positive guest connections; and will greet customers, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items; serve beverages; and serve food items. Team member will also upsell menu items, develop beverage recipes, utilize proper equipment and ingredients and perform cleaning and maintenance to work areas and work equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing quality guest service and promoting and marketing the Shuckers brand
  • The Server Marketing Model participates in in-house modeling programs, special events, and performs model/presenter tasks at Shuckers events
  • Maintain appearance levels consistent with that at time of hire, and within management discretion
  • Consistently delivers exceptional service to every guest while entertaining in a professional manner in accordance with the Shuckers brand
  • Markets the Stiles, Shuckers and services offered to a targeted customer base
  • Performs in a public relations capacity when modeling and promoting Shuckers
  • Interacts and entertains guests in a cordial and gracious manner, thereby creating a memorable experience and building guest loyalty. Serves as Brand Ambassador for Shuckers, using finesse and good judgment
  • Maintains quality services standards according to the Shuckers brand with all guests by creating a friendly, relaxed atmosphere while serving guests
  • Prepares and serves cocktails, beer and wine for guests and servers, using company standard recipes
  • Completes assigned side-work duties (opening, closing, ongoing)
  • Maintains cleanliness in assigned stationĀ 
  • Promotes a professional, safe, helpful and courteous work environment
  • Builds rapport with guests and informs them of daily, weekly specials as well as upcoming and ongoing Shuckers events
  • Properly enters all food and beverage orders into the point of sale system, and presents guest with a receipt in a timely manner
  • Executes and promotes the safe and responsible sale of alcoholic beverages, verifies identification of guests who look under 35 years of age
  • Attempts to consistently up-sell guests brand name liquor, beer, wine and add-on items
  • Ensures proper glassware and garnishes are used for each cocktail
  • Accurately completes cash drop and checkout procedures at the end of each shift
  • Ensures compliance with responsible vendors and food handling programs
  • Maintains and ensures compliance of all policies and procedures

Other Functions:

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 18 years of age, previous experience in Hotel/Restaurant preferred, but not required
  • High school diploma preferred
  • Previous modeling experience preferred, but not required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Consistently maintains a well-groomed appearance, posture and hygiene as deemed by management
  • Make-up, appearance and style is aligned with current fashion standards and trends as deemed by management and consistent with Shuckers brand
  • Consistently demonstrates the ability to wear Shuckers clothing with weight and appearance associated with modeling industry requirements and standards
  • Posture, gestures, movement and walking should reflect model aesthetics
  • Outgoing personality, is warm and friendly; demonstrates enthusiasm and professionalism, effective listening skills, strong judgment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to verbally communicate and take direction
  • Ability to multi-task in high volume and fast paced work environment
  • Ability to remain calm in high stress situations

  • Extensive knowledge of the hotel, its services and facilities

  • Capable of describing all menu items, prices and methods of preparation and use of suggestive selling techniques to encourage the guests to choose items that are house specialties

Working Conditions:

  • Most work tasks are performed outdoors; however, must be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10 degrees F) and kitchens (+110 degrees F), possibly for one hour or more
  • Work requires evenings, weekends and holiday hours
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. on occasion
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning/inspection tasks
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity
  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment
